An introduction !28 Oct 2016Hello everyone ! I would like to introduce myself to you  - my name is Geoff Day and I am the current Chair of Governors here at Middleton Primary. This school year (2016/17) is actually my 3rd  term as Chair and I have to tell you that I feel it a great privilege to be involved in such a brilliant  school - even more so because I am an old  "Miggy " lad myself - having attended the then Middleton Infants and Middleton Junior Boys, before moving on to secondary school- more years ago than I care to remember !
I don't run the school ! I leave that to our great team of staff, who I know do a terrific job.
What I and my fellow governors do is to assist and advise our staff in the best way forward for Middleton Primary, so that together we can provide our children with the best education possible and equip them to go on to a great future.

Just before half term I was able to attend the Key Stage 2 Harvest Festival and it was great to see so many parents /carers there also - as well as seeing  the huge amount of fresh and tinned food that children brought in !
Well - I must say that Harvest Festival wasn't like this in my time at school - this was absolutely brilliant  !! The songs and the readings were just great,so a big "Well Done" to all of the children involved - can't wait for next year !
Finally - a huge thanks to parents and carers for your very generous donations in these hard times - you can be sure that everything  will have been put to good use.
